Purpose of Job:
The Sales Development Manager (SDM) will be focused on developing and maintaining a portfolio of Interstate Batteries most exciting Healthcare customers in the nation. The Sales Development Manager (SDM) anticipates how the Healthcare market and competitive factors will influence the selling of Interstate Batteries products and services. The SDM is proficient in developing territory strategic plans and translating that to account specific plans and tactics. Additionally, responsible for helping to define the sales tools, technology enhancements and sales enablement activities that produce measureable bottom line sales results.
SDM helps drive sales and profit for the entire system through collaboration with the Contact Center, franchisees, and Enterprise business units including DOIT, Power Care, and IBR.
Job Components:
- Consults with health care customers on strategic business initiatives and technology plans.
- Closes new opportunities by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Create detailed quarterly action plans that expand Interstate Batteries market share through identifying critical healthcare accounts and hospital IDN’s that need and rely on power sources.
- Effectively exercises power and influences key decisions for the benefit of Interstate Batteries and the customer.
- Works effectively with functional leaders throughout the organization and has effective team leadership.
- Collaborate with other key opinion leaders throughout the enterprise to enhance growth of our products and services.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of medical device, diagnostic, hospital, or biotech sales experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years managing large enterprise accounts.
- Documentation of successful sales performance is preferred.
- The ability to work in a hospital environment and travel up to 40% is required.
- Valid Driver’s License issued in one of the 50 United States is required.
Scope Data:
- Contacts are internal – (Franchisees, distributors, HO staff) and external (Customers). This position operates with high degree of relational interaction and minimal supervision. Must build and maintain relationships across Enterprise associated with source data of all types.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Travel 40% of time
