What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level - Grocery Application Specialist and Analyst position at Retail Data Systems?
Summary of Position
RDS operates in the exciting and challenging arena of POS (Point of Sale). From Self-Checkout to electronic shelf tags, RDS installs and supports the latest technology for the grocery industry. You will be able to make a difference in consumers' lives as they adopt this state-of-the-art technology. Level 1 Support is a customer-facing role that requires work to be done at customer locations and remotely from one of our offices. This position demands strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing and strong listening and retention skills. The ideal candidate will be willing to work with end-users and management to resolve issues, in a timely fashion, while maintaining the best customer service possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer inbound service desk calls, emails, and monitor issue queues
- Provide initial troubleshooting and clarification of issue or request
- Create and update incident records for tracking and documenting issues or requests
- Regular communication with customers, providing updates on open issues
- Categorize and prioritize issues and requests using defined standards
- Monitors issues escalated to Level 2 to ensure timely resolution and maintain customer communication
- Validate and deliver solutions provided by Level 2/Level 3
- Provide after-hours support as part of the on-call rotation
- Expand your knowledge of components, applications and business activities to advance your abilities and responsibilities, graduating to a Level 2 position
- Provide onsite support and training when required
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic PC skills
- A self-motivated, responsive individual with excellent prioritization skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records of repairs, shipments, etc.
- Excels working in a team environment while also motivated to perform alone on projects.
- Ability to pass a background check, and driving record check
Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced PC skills: Microsoft, Google Suite, SQL, Networking, Antivirus, Active Directory and/or Scripting
· 1-2 years experience in the grocery industry, examples include; lead cashier, price coordinator, receiving clerk, pricing assistant, IT person, assistant manager or manager.
· Help Desk experience
· Certification welcomed but not required, including
