Job Summary:
Retail First Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Data Entry Clerk / Shipping Label Specialist to join our Shipping Department in Elgin, IL. This position requires 2-3 days of work per week, as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for entering shipping data into the Global Shop Solutions ERP system and creating shipping labels using an external shipping label system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry: Accurately input shipping and order data into the Global Shop Solutions ERP system, including customer details, order information, and shipping addresses.
- Shipping Label Creation: Generate shipping labels using an external label system , ensuring correct details for each carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.).
- Manual Tracking Number Entry: Once the shipping label is created, manually enter the tracking number into the Global Shop Solutions ERP system for proper order tracking.
- Verify the accuracy of shipping information, including addresses and order contents, to prevent delivery delays or errors.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely dispatch and fulfillment of orders.
- Maintain and update shipping logs and records in both the ERP system and the external label system.
- Track shipments using the ERP system and external tools, and provide updates to customers or internal teams when necessary.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipments by collaborating with logistics or warehouse teams.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping and packaging guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management and order fulfillment when necessary.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Global Shop Solutions, is preferred.
- Previous experience in data entry or shipping/warehouse departments is a plus.
- Proficiency in using external shipping label systems (such as ShipStation, Stamps.com, UPS WorldShip, etc.).
- Ability to manually enter tracking numbers and accurately update records in the ERP system.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when creating shipping labels and entering tracking information.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
