Safety Supervisor

Ready to grow your career? Respected poultry processor has an immediate need for a Safety Supervisor (2nd Shift) to join the Rockingham, NC team. This position runs 4 : 30pm to 12 : 30am and will supervise 2 to 4 associates. This is a high growth position offering competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and top notch training! This position is responsible for communicating company policies and reporting safety walkthrough findings pertaining to safety, hazardous communication, and ergonomics. The Safety Supervisor will also be responsible for tracking safety findings and taking corrective actions through service requests and managing OSL positions. Specifically :

• Provide on-the-job training and follow-up on hazardous communication, safety, ergonomics, and other subjects with associates in all Processing Departments. This includes new associate orientation (whether directly hired or through a temp agency) as well as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) paperwork, which is ongoing.
• Conduct daily JSA audits and report findings to Safety and Ops teams along with corrective actions and re-training that is needed.
• Assist Safety Manager in interviewing associates and gathering information on accidents and near misses.
• Attend bi-weekly safety meetings, PSM meetings or any other safety-related meetings that occur.
• Assist the Safety Manager in responding to associates’ needs and concerns for safety issues as they arise.
• Assist the Safety Manager by taking & posting meeting notes for the Safety Committee meetings.
• Maintain oversight and training for OSL positions on Day and Night Shift.
• Assist in Corporate Safety Audit and Paperwork documentation.
• Maintain Oversight for Housekeeping Group.

Requirements : A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, or related is preferred. Safety related degree in process will be considered. Additional requirements include :

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
