What are the responsibilities and job description for the ReMelt (Electrical) Engineer position at Retech Systems?
POSITION SUMMARY
The ReMelt Engineer provides electrical and control system design support for customer projects used in the aluminum and specialty metals industries. They also provide sales support, customer support, and project support of systems utilizing electrical, hydraulic, natural gas, and pneumatic components for equipment such as aluminum scrap processors, alloy weighing and blending systems and other supporting equipment for the specialty metals industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review each project scope of work to identify key milestones, ensure completeness of documentation
Design and implement the control system for the various customer projects, including PLC code, HMI screens and electrical control panels. This will involve working with the other electrical and mechanical design team members, as well as customer technical representatives.
Develop clear and concise engineering specifications for design and / or procurement of subsystems, components, and engineering services.
Work collaboratively with Customers, Project Managers, and Customer Service to resolve customer's issues and concerns relating to existing equipment.
Develop written methods and procedures for testing equipment and systems.
Provide reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
Review documents such as customer design specifications and requests for quotes to determine feasibility of design and applicability of Retech products to customer needs.
Generate creative solutions, use feedback to modify design, apply design principals, and demonstrate attention to detail.
Direct and perform equipment commissioning, startup and testing activities both at the factory and at the end user's installation site. Equipment commissioning ensures conformance to project specifications and requires familiarity with all aspects of machine performance including mechanical, electrical and process performance characteristics.
Requirements
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from a four-year college or university.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to design PLC control systems architectures and networks
Familiarity with PI and PID closed loop controls, as well as typical process control instrumentation used in the measurement of vacuum, pressure, temperature and flow.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC's and HMI platforms, as well as TCP / IP and other network protocols
Proven track record in generating innovative and practical ideas.
Experience with industrial schematics or P&IDs.
Working knowledge of recognized industry standards.
Ability to maintain project schedules and adhere to budgets.

The work environment is an office setting with periodic need to visit the plant floor.
The position may be required to work long hours extending into the weekends on some occasions.
The position may also need to travel for short or extended trips as needed. The first 2 years of this job will be a lot of travel.
The position must also be able and willing to travel to international and domestic sites for sales, installation, and customer service support.
