Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist ophthalmologists in providing high-quality eye care to patients. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow in the office, and contributing to a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ophthalmology procedures and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary eye exams, including measuring visual acuity and assessing ocular health.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and fundus photography.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Administer basic treatments as directed by the ophthalmologist while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an ophthalmology setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and common ocular conditions.
  • Familiarity with medical billing processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic.
  • Ability to take vital signs and perform basic clinical assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and equipment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
