What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Account Representative position at Retina Consultants?
The Patient Accounts Representative (PAR) serves as a financial counselor to patients and manage the following duties :
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and functions related to cash drawer reconciliation and deposit
- Determines and communicates procedure estimates to patients
- Assist patients in setting up financial arrangements such as payments plan
- Monitor and manage patient responsible accounts receivable to ensure timely payment on accounts
- Manage adjustments on patients accounts
- Communicate with physicians regarding delinquent accounts and address them with patients accordingly
- Coordinate with front desk staff, billing department, and technicians as needed to access the financial needs of the patient
- Manage returned checks, bankruptcy notifications, and other incoming financial information
- Assist patients in applying for medically indigent coverage
- Prepare monthly reports on patient AR, adjustments, and payment plans
