Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Retina Subspecialty clinic. This role will require a strong understanding of ophthalmology practice management, particularly in the retina field, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills. The Administrator will work closely with retina specialists, medical staff, and administration to ensure the highest quality of patient care and smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the retina subspecialty, including patient scheduling, clinical workflows, and coordination between clinical and administrative teams.
- Staff Management: Supervise and support retina clinical staff, including medical assistants, technicians, and administrative personnel. Provide training and ensure efficient, effective performance within the team.
- Patient Care Coordination: Ensure seamless communication between patients, providers, and staff, maintaining high standards for patient care, satisfaction, and service.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the clinic's budget, monitor expenses, and ensure revenue cycle management for retina-related services, including coding and billing for retina-specific procedures and treatments.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare industry standards. Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of care and patient safety.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement and management of supplies and equipment specific to the retina subspecialty.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, including pricing negotiations, maintaining equipment and supply inventories.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement growth strategies for the retina subspecialty, improve patient care processes, and ensure operational efficiency.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient volume, satisfaction, financial performance, and other relevant metrics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, IT, and billing, to ensure the retina subspecialty is integrated with the larger practice operations.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any operational challenges or issues that arise, focusing on improving efficiency and patient experience.
- Collaborate with the Research Department as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare administration, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within an ophthalmology or subspecialty-focused practice. Experience in retina subspecialty preferred.
