Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Managing and coordinating prior authorizations for patients receiving treatments and procedures
· Calling insurance companies to resolve billing and processing problems of claims and/or prior authorizations
· Following through with benefits investigations
· Maintaining up to date knowledge of medical terminology and changes to insurance requirements
· Prior authorization submittal, review and sign off as necessary
· Updating patient insurance information and understanding of patient benefits
· Managing patient assistance programs
· Interacting with patients in a compassionate and upbeat manner at all times
Requirements and Preferences:
· Prior medical office billing experience is strongly preferred
· High school diploma or equivalent; required, AA or BS degree; preferred
· Two (2) years' previous customer service experience in a related supportive position preferred
· Able to prioritize, and manage time efficiently
· Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work autonomously
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Bilingual/Spanish preferred
