What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate, In Vivo position at Retro?
Retro develops therapies for diseases driven by the biology of aging. We focus on cellular reprogramming and autophagy to rejuvenate cell and tissue function with the ultimate aim of adding 10 years to healthy human lifespan.

We are hiring a new team member to join our Vivarium team. In this role, you will support a range of activities enabling our technical in vivo research and clinical development.

\n- Perform dose administration (IP, SQ, RO, PO, IV), blood collection (RO, Cardiac, SM, tail vein), oral gavage administration, and necropsy in rodent models.
- Train to assist and/or perform sterile survival surgical procedures (stereotaxic injections etc.).
- Perform behavioral phenotyping assays (Y-maze, open field, rotarod, water maze etc.).
- Maintain compliance with IACUC and regulations to assure animal welfare.
- Maintain the vivarium and surrounding space as needed: lab stock, chemical inventory, safety records, reviewing and writing operating procedures and study protocols.
- Have a BS/AS degree in biology, veterinary science, or a related field, or equivalent of 5 years industry experience.
- Have 2 years of animal husbandry, colony management or rodent work in a research setting.
- Have experience with dose administration (IP, SQ, RO, PO, IV), blood collection (RO, Cardiac, SM, tail vein), oral gavage administration, and necropsy in rodent models.
- Have experience assisting with and/or performing rodent anesthesia and sterile survival surgical procedures.
- Have hands-on experience with behavior phenotyping assays, specifically (Y-Maze, Open field, Rotarod, and water maze).
- Are able to stand, sit, crouch, and climb frequently for long durations. Must be able to safely lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Are available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Have experience assisting with and/or performing stereotaxic injections.
- Are AALAS certified (AALAT, LAT or LATg) or RVT .

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
