Description
RETTEW, an employee-owned engineering consulting firm, seeks Civil/Site Engineers for our Land Development design team in Lancaster and Allentown, PA. As a Land Development Engineer 3, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing engineering design and permitting tasks for development projects in the industrial, commercial, and residential development markets.
Responsibilities
Technical
- Performs engineering design such as stormwater and erosion and sediment control design, NPDES permitting, etc., for land development projects.
- Collects data and prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents.
- Performs research and field investigations including observing construction activities.
- Assists with the preparation and/or production of engineering deliverables.
- Analyzes and interprets test data.
- May assist or perform CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
Program, Project, and Task Management
- Works as a part of a team; planning and coordinating aspects of the engineering work.
- Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
- Prepares and/or assists with developing scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects and assignments.
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates assertiveness and cooperation in managing conflicts.
- Interacts with internal and external project team members.
- Demonstrates empathy and critical listening skills.
- Engages in some project stakeholder interactions and meetings.
- Assists with official communication about specific assignments/meetings.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in traditional land development project engineering and permitting, including stormwater management, NPDES, and erosion and sedimentation control.
- A PE license in Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
- Strong demonstrated technical, design, permitting, and writing expertise.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and stormwater programs (Hydraflow, and/or HydroCAD).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
