Description
RETTEW is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geoscientist to join our team. As a Geoscientist, you will be responsible for conducting field work and analyzing environmental and geological data in support of our GeoEnvironmental Team projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field inspections (primarily oil and gas sites) using prescribed methods.
- Conduct field investigations (environmental soil, groundwater sampling, stream profiling) using prescribed methods.
- Assist in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Subsurface Investigations.
- Participate in soil investigations, infiltration testing and contractor oversight/observations.
- Data reduction and preparation of laboratory data.
- Assist with various permit applications and specifications for project compliance needs.
- Consult senior project staff about regulations concerning project issues; assists in researching applicable regulations.
- Perform drilling inspection inclusive of geotechnical borehole logging and borehole log preparation utilizing gINT software a plus.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year of experience in environmental consulting is desired, but willing to train the right entry level candidate.
- Degree in Geology and/or related Environmental Science Discipline is required.
- Desire to participate in multidisciplinary projects is preferred with eventual focus and concentration in specific disciplines.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
- Periodic overnight travel with moderately frequent project specific extended travel is required.
- Word, Excel proficient.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
