Position summary:

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, developing strong distributor and retailer relationships, and executing strategic sales plans. This role requires a deep understanding of the craft beer industry, distributor management, and retail sales strategy. The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


About us:

Reuben’s Brews is a family brewery that opened in 2012. We brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. We know making the extra effort is worth it. We are the most decorated brewery in Washington, have two brewhouses, two tasting rooms, and two private event spaces, and we distribute our beer predominantly in the Pacific Northwest. In 2024 we brewed 26,000 BBLs.

 

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and driven Area Sales Manager to lead sales efforts in an assigned territory, working alongside distributor partners and retail accounts to grow our presence in key markets.

 

The role:

This position reports to the Director of Sales and is responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with distributor partners, retail accounts, and key stakeholders.
  • Scheduling and leading meetings with distributors to discuss sales goals, new product launches, marketing initiatives, and branding strategies.
  • Managing wholesaler inventory, ensuring appropriate levels, and assisting with sales orders.
  • Utilizing sales analytics tools (such as VIP) to identify growth opportunities and assess market trends.
  • Representing Reuben’s Brews at key industry events, festivals, and promotions.
  • Conducting regular market visits to bars, restaurants, and retail accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations related to alcohol sales and distribution.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support marketing efforts, new product launches, and sales initiatives.
  • Leading and executing key sales strategies to achieve volume and revenue targets.


The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of craft beer sales experience, including distributor management.
  • Ideally resides in the North Seattle – Everett Area.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between accounts.
  • A passion for craft beer and an understanding of industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of the three-tier distribution system and the local craft beer market.
  • Must be over 21.
  • Physical demands of the role include but are not limited to: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; Often lift or move full 1/2BBL kegs.

How to Stand Out

  • Cicerone® Certified or Certified Beer Server.
  • Experience using VIP or other sales analytics software.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and build strong retailer relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
