Position summary:

The Taproom Operations Director will be responsible for growing the direct to customer taproom businesses including our taproom beer, food, events, private events, and merchandise programs. Key to success will be ensuring a delightful guest experience; creating an engaging and positive culture in the taproom teams, both front of house and back of house; facilitating the smooth operations between various internal departments and multiple taproom locations; and growing and continually improving our taproom business. This role will lead the project management of opening new taproom locations.


About us:

Reuben's Brews is a family brewery that opened in 2012. We brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. We know making the extra effort is worth it. We are the most decorated brewery in Washington, have two brewhouses, two tasting rooms, and two private event spaces, and we distribute our beer predominantly in the Pacific Northwest. In 2023 we brewed 27,000 BBLs.


The role:

This role reports to the COO and has the primary goals of ensuring the smooth day to day operations at all taproom locations; supporting and engaging including taproom teams, a strong retail operations organization; and the achievement of operational and strategic goals. The successful applicant will be responsible for:


  • Leadership, Management, and Accountability of the taproom teams across multiple locations
  • Taproom operations and results (beer, food, events, retail beer, merchandise, private events and catering)
  • Continuous improvement of the guest experience
  • Coordinated execution of releases, events and offerings
  • Compliance of taproom operations (health, LCB, safety, labor, etc.)
  • Opening new taprooms


The successful applicant will be a part of the brewerys senior leadership team and work closely with the COO, Co-Founders and the rest of leadership on the strategic direction of the business.


Qualifications required:


At a very minimum to be considered, you must have:


  • 5 years experience in a multi-faceted management role successfully leading across multiple locations within the hospitality industry, experience in the brewing industry an advantage
  • 2 years as a department head, including full income statement ownership
  • Extremely strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of successfully developing a high-performing team
  • Exceptional knowledge of food and beverage trends, inventory management, hospitality systems and guest service standards
  • Previous income statement ownership experience required
  • Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategically and provide leadership to others
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to closure concurrently
  • A college degree or business qualifications an advantage
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Physical demands of the role include but are not limited to: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift or move full 1/2BBL kegs
