JOB SUMMARY: The Cleburne Railroaders, a professional baseball team competing in the American Association of Professional Baseball, are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and technically proficient Broadcaster to serve as the voice of the Railroaders during all home and away games. This role plays a key part in connecting fans to the action on the field through engaging play-by-play commentary, in-depth analysis, and storytelling that enhances the overall fan experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Deliver live, engaging play-by-play broadcasts for all Cleburne Railroaders home and road games via radio, streaming platforms, and/or other designated media channels.
Prepare thoroughly for each game by researching team rosters, player statistics, and relevant storylines to provide insightful commentary and in-game context.
Participate in pre-game meetings to review promotional elements, game scripts, and production schedules in coordination with the scoreboard operator and game-day staff.
Serve as an on-air personality for pre-game, in-game, and post-game shows, including player interviews, sponsor mentions, and promotional reads.
Assist with the technical setup and testing of broadcast equipment before each game to ensure seamless audio and/or video delivery.
Represent the Railroaders brand professionally at all times, both on and off the air, including community and media appearances as assigned.
Assist with social media content, game notes, and other communications needs as requested by the front office.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in sports broadcasting, preferably baseball, at the collegiate, independent, or minor league level.
Strong knowledge of baseball rules, terminology, and analytics.
Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear, engaging, and professional on-air presence.
Ability to multi-task and think quickly in a live broadcast environment.
Proficiency with audio equipment, broadcast software, and streaming platforms.
Ability to travel with the team and work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the game schedule.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
