The Director of Sales for The Arena at Innovation Mile, under the supervision of the GM, is responsible for the overall direction of the venue sales and sponsorships and will be responsible for the building, leading, and developing of our sales team. The Arena at Innovation Mile is a 3,500-fixed seat multipurpose entertainment venue that will host a variety of different events and will open in the Summer of 2025.
Essential Duties: (Including, but not limited to)
Develop and implement the special event budget.
Develop and implement sales plan to achieve overall revenue goals through events and event services.
Develop plan for outreach, networking, and relationship building to drive sales and attain goals.
Manage the Arena’s master calendar with the General Manager.
Respond to and supervise sales team response to event inquiries & RFPs received through the Arena at Innovation Mile website, email, phone calls, social media, etc.
Represent the Venue at/to local, regional, national conventions and trade groups to help fulfil revenue goals.
Handle Premium Accounts/ Sponsorship Sales to ensure renewable major events and revenue.
Optimize the sale of Arena assets during events including suites, club, premium services, etc.
Develop a sales team focused on booking community-oriented sports and entertainment events that meet revenue goals.
Develop attainable goals for sales team to book revenue producing events that improve the Arena’s viability for local and national events.
Track Individual and Team Performance against revenue projections and goals. Utilize data driven metrics to optimize overall performance and incentivize sales team.
Interview, hire, train, delegate assignments, and review work of sales team.
Conduct regular sales meetings to track progress towards sales goals and discuss potential issues.
Collaborate with Marketing Director and their team on annual and event specific marketing plans to enhance event success and revenue goals.
Collaborate with Operations, and Event Services Director(s) and their staffs to ensure an optimal coordination between the client and the venue on the presentation of the event.
Create financial reports for individual events and monthly total sales to be reviewed by management team.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations to perspective clients, government agencies, interested parties etc.
Create lasting relationships with clients and the event community before, during, and after the event cycle is complete.
Serve as MOD for events as assigned.
Perform other duties as needed.
Proffered Qualifications:
Bachelor degree preferred.
5 years sales experience in sports, attractions, and/ or entertainment.
Combination of education and experience will be considered.
Revenue forecasting, financial management, budgeting experience.
Management & Leadership experience.
Contract negotiation and execution experience.
Premier communication skills.
Dedication to delivering a championship level experience to all guests.
Flexible hours including nights, weekends, & holidays required.
