JOB SUMMARY: REV Entertainment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Stadium Grounds to lead all aspects of grounds and field maintenance at Mansfield Stadium. The ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of turfgrass science, irrigation, and sports field maintenance, with a passion for maintaining an elite playing surface that meets MLS and MLS Next Pro standards. The Director of Stadium Grounds will lead a team of groundskeepers, manage budgets, coordinate field renovations, and work closely with coaches, event organizers, and operations personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Lead and manage the grounds team responsible for maintaining the main stadium pitch and stadium landscapes
Develop and execute comprehensive turf maintenance programs (mowing, aeration, fertilization, pest control, over-seeding, etc.) aligned with league and management expectations.
Oversee daily inspections and proactive maintenance of irrigation systems, drainage systems, and field equipment.
Coordinate with stadium and team staff to meet field condition requirements for matches, training sessions, and special events.
Coordinate field setup and breakdown for games, tournaments, concerts, and other events
Collaborate with Stadium Operations on event planning, including field protection for concerts, festivals, and other non-sporting events.
Monitor weather conditions and develop response plans for inclement weather situations.
Manage grounds-related budgets, including staffing, equipment, supplies, and capital projects.
Maintain accurate records of field conditions, applications, and maintenance schedules for compliance and performance tracking.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Recruit, train, and mentor grounds staff, fostering a team-oriented and high-performance culture.
Stay informed of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in turf management.
Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in sports turf management, preferably at a multi-use facility or professional/collegiate level.
Supervisory experience leading a grounds crew or turf operations team.
Strong knowledge of warm-season turfgrass management and field layout for soccer and multi-use venues.
Familiarity with MLS field regulations and standards is highly desirable.
Familiarity with industry regulations, including OSHA and environmental compliance.
Ability to safely and properly tank mix fungicides/fertilizers and dispose of them in accordance with state, federal, and OSHA regulations
Excellent organizational, budgeting, and project management skills.
Efficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer software skills.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
Valid driver’s license and pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is on-call 24/7 and will require work to be performed on weekends, event nights and holidays as needed.
Outdoors and office environment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move with large bulk items.
Requires long periods of time on feet.
Ability to walk, sit, climb, crawl, kneel, squat, bend, and extend arms and legs fully.
Ability to use hands to manipulate and effectively use tools and controls.
Exposure to chemicals on a regular basis.
