Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the Chemistry Lab Technician is to support production of monomers and polymers for REVA intravascular medical devices, as well as to provide manufacturing assistance for REVA R&D chemical operations. Some of the following tasks may include but are not limited to :
- Perform wet chemical processes to produce monomers, polymer and related products with well-defined manufacturing instructions.
- Perform the setting up of chemistry equipment for daily manufacturing activities.
- Responsible for maintaining the chemistry equipment, including cleaning, calibrations and preventative maintenance.
- Support development of bench scale processes and techniques for novel projects.
- Prepare samples for instrumental physical and chemical analysis such as GPC, HPLC, DSC, GCMS, NMR, KF, and TGA.
- Perform process qualification testing and inspections, when required.
- Execute experiment protocols and studies, when required.
- Write technical summaries including lab notebook entries with detailed records.
- Maintain the laboratory by organizing and ordering supplies, lab housekeeping and maintaining equipment.
- Provide support to research and development projects, when required.
