Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to set up & operate extrusion machinery; Setups, Changeovers, Adjustment, Mechanical Aptitude; Ability to Troubleshoot; Visual &quality Inspections, Basic Paperwork
Perform a variety of manufacturing processes using tools, fixtures, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
Operate and monitor complex semi-automated technologies used in the manufacturing process
Perform in-process inspections using micrometers and other hand tools, microscopes, visual inspection systems, engineering prints and manufacturing instructions
Complete quality records including lot history records (LHR's), training records, labeling etc
Provide set ups, preventative maintenance and / or repair of manufacturing tools and equipment.
Execute engineering protocols and document results in test reports and lab notebooks.
Maintain workspace and equipment in an orderly, safe and professional manner.
Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and interface with other departments in developing solutions
Meet department goals for quality and output
Notifies Process Engineer and / or Production Supervisor of any discrepancies to ensure quality standards and safety of operations are always maintained
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and / or Experience
High school degree or equivalent, and five (5) years experience in miniature part (microscope) assembly
Experience working in a clean room environment
Experience in an ISO and / or medical device manufacturing or similarly regulated environment
Required Knowledge / Skills
Working knowledge of extrusion
Ability to follow procedures, drawings, manufacturing instructions, specifications and other controlled documents. Ability to read engineering prints. Ability to work without the aid of written manufacturing instructions as necessary.
Proven Mechanical Aptitude and Ability to Troubleshoot
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office, including Excel
Ability to multi-task.
Ability adjust to a dynamic environment, priority / build schedule changes; flexibility to accommodate temporary changes in work hours.
Detail oriented, organized and able to accurately collect and record information / data
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to read and understand English
High level of manual dexterity desired
Knowledge of or ability to learn basic tool room procedures (sharpening electrodes, etc)
Basic math skills
Ability to work in a team environment
