Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the production schedule, ensuring materials are available, and optimizing the workflow to meet production goals efficiently and on time. You will work closely with the production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure that all resources, including personnel and materials, are aligned with production demands..
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and production capacity.
- Analyze and monitor production requirements and inventory levels to ensure the efficient use of resources and meet customer demand.
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure drawings are available when needed to support procurement and manufacturing activities.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials are available when needed and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any delays or disruptions in the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet changing customer priorities, production delays, or resource availability.
- Provide regular updates on production progress, delays, and performance to management and other stakeholders.
- Work with the quality control team to ensure that production schedules align with quality assurance standards.
- Assist in forecasting future production needs and contribute to long-term production planning strategies.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, inventory levels, and on-time delivery.
- Implement continuous improvement practices to streamline production processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) certification is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in production planning or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods, perform office-based work, and occasionally walk through the production floor.
- Occasional lifting of materials or documents up to 20 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and various mechanical equipment.
