Description

We are expanding and looking to hire a part-time certified medical assistant to help keep up with our growing number of clients. In addition to having experience as a medical assistant, the ideal candidate must have a strong background in customer service, be a self-starter, and passionate towards patient care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :

• Receptionist & administrative duties such as greeting clients, answering phone calls, maintaining calendars, and light maintenance.
• Working directly with the clinical director to come up with and execute ideas to bolster business (events, social media, promotional).
• Taking medical histories.
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
• Preparing patients for examinations.
• Assisting the practitioner during examinations.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Performing basic laboratory tests
• Instructing patients about medication and special diets.
• Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations / immunizations, as directed by a licensed provider.
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed.
• Phlebotomy.
• Documenting full vital signs.
• Using computer applications.
• Answering telephones.
• Welcoming patients.
• Updating and filing patient medical records.
• Coding.
• Scheduling appointments.
• Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services.
• Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping.
• Keep patient records secure through our EMR Optimantra and marketing software.
