Position Title: Senior Payroll Operations Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Payroll Operations Manager to lead our team of skilled professionals. Reporting to the Director of Payroll Accounting, this role involves managing end-to-end payroll cycles with a focus on identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies. The candidate must understand corrective actions and the downstream impacts on future payroll cycles.
Key Requirements:
Expertise in timekeeping using Kronos (or similar systems) and importing data into PeopleSoft.
Experience running biweekly and off-cycle payrolls for multiple tax IDs.
Documented understanding of payroll taxes for non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance on payroll accounting best practices and staff development.
Assist the Director with all payroll and timekeeping functions.
Collaborate with IT, HRIS, and Operations leaders on new payroll strategies, technologies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and labor laws regarding pay practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in payroll processing and payroll tax.
Multi-state payroll experience required.
5 years of leadership and management experience.
Certifications (Preferred):
Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPC) certification preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
