What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Specialist position at Revel Staffing?
Key Responsibilities:
Promote a zero-incident safety culture through leadership, safe work practices, and direct employee engagement.
Conduct field safety audits focused on life-critical procedures including Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, and Confined Space Entry.
Coach and support employees at all levels in safety best practices and compliance expectations.
Deliver effective safety training for new hires and ongoing regulatory programs.
Assist in incident and near-miss investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and support corrective action follow-up.
Maintain and manage the SDS and Hazard Communication program.
Conduct PPE assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and exposure monitoring.
Support contractor safety programs and lead site-specific orientation and training efforts.
Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and documentation as needed.
Analyze safety data trends from observations, audits, incidents, and inspections.
Interface with regulatory agencies and support inspection readiness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve safety initiatives.
Team Structure:
Reports to: Site Safety / Industrial Hygiene / Medical Services Manager
Works alongside: Sr. Safety Engineer, Industrial Hygiene Specialist, Safety Manager (Fire Chief), and contracted medical personnel
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field (required)
Minimum of 2 years of safety compliance experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical manufacturing preferred)
Proficiency with OSHA standards, hazard management, and safety auditing
Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Willingness to work flexible hours to support safety initiatives across all shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience maintaining safety policies and procedures
Knowledge of ANSI standards and exposure to contractor safety programs
Desire and eligibility to pursue Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
