Description
The Hospitality Intern plays a vital role in the success of Gator Hospitality (GH) by supporting the Hospitality Managers. The intern will work closely with athletic donors and other members of the athletics department. Interpersonal, multitasking and communication skills are necessary and should be developed throughout this internship. This is a great entry-level opportunity for program participants to gain hands-on experience in athletic event management and premium seating hospitality.
Internship Site:
Gator Hospitality office, managed by REVELxp, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Expectations:
The intern is expected to act in a courteous manner and dress presentably as he/she will be representing The University of Florida Athletic Department and REVELxp. The intern is also expected to work closely with his/her immediate manager and keep the manager informed of any issues relating to donor/employee safety and satisfaction. The intern should understand that he/she will be perceived by donors and University staff as a management team member.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and administer policies and procedures regarding admission, food and beverage, maintenance, and other premium area operations
- Assist in managing designated premium areas on game days at every home Florida football game including supervision of game day staff members
- Serve as a liaison between Skybox and Den Holders/Club Members, catering staff, and the UAA
- Support the creation, editing, and distribution of game week newsletters and staff newsletters
- Preparing, organizing, and maintaining game day supplies and materials
- Preparing and managing premium areas on game days
- Communicating with game day staff members, athletic donors, and athletics personnel
- Performing general office duties
- Deliver the finest hospitality and service by going above and beyond every day
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Commitment to all home football games (10-12 hours), men’s basketball home games, gymnastics meets, baseball games, and other events as assigned (nights and weekends)
- Undergraduate college degree preferred (or in progress)
- Excellent communication skills, oral, and written
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to problem solve under pressure
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritizing skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Team player mentality
- Dependable and dedicated work ethic
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to be on their feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy furniture, carry stanchions, etc.
- Reliable transportation
Hours/Availability:
This position will require a commitment to all six home football game weekends in 2025. Office hours range from 20-30 hours/week, depending on workload and game/event schedule. This is a paid position; the current pay rate is $16.00/hour.
