We have a 1st Shift Calibration Technician at our Company Headquarters, conveniently located off 694 and University Avenue in Fridley, MN
Summary :
Join our Maintenance department by providing the repair, fabrication, design calibration of all gauging, tooling and fixturing. In this critical role, you'll be a key player in ensuring our manufacturing processes run at peak efficiency. You'll wear multiple hats and your attention to detail and machining expertise will be essential in producing high-quality parts according to specifications.
Responsibilities :
- Perform repair and calibration of all gauging equipment, including calipers, dial indicators, and similar tools.
- Repair and calibrate all tooling and fixtures to ensure optimal performance.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in all tasks.
- Design and build new tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing needs.
- Set up and operate equipment for turning, boring, grinding, milling, and other machining operations.
- Layout and machine parts according to precise print requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and portable power tools effectively and safely.
- Support the manufacturing team by actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and troubleshoot all machine shop equipment as required.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- Participate in Lean training and continuous improvement events.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a high level of housekeeping standards.
- Promote and enforce safety practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage and update the Preventive Maintenance database and scheduling system to ensure equipment reliability.
Qualifications :
Hours : 1st shift : Monday – Friday 6AM-2 : 30PM . Overtime may be required. (can be flexible to work 5am-1 : 30pm if preferred)
Pay : The hourly pay for this position ranges from $25 to $30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. We welcome applicants of all experience levels who are qualified for the role and encourage open discussions regarding pay expectations.
Work Environment :
Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly. Candidates must be capable of standing for extended periods, including 8 hours or more, and should be comfortable with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching. This position demands physical endurance and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail throughout the shift.
