Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the Professional Counselor is responsible for providing mental health treatment to clients in a private practice setting with the ability to treat dual diagnoses where applicable.Our practice serves children as young as age 5, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. We are motivated to add a Child and Adolescent Counselor as well as a Bilingual Counselor in the near future.However, we are seeking clinicians of all different areas of specialization, therefore, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply for employment consideration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Maintain all proper and current licensure/certifications and CEU requirements for your licensure/certification and comply with all credentialing requests and timelines assigned.
· Conduct diagnostic clinical interviews to gather, analyze and evaluate psycho-social data, both on a regular basis and as part of crisis intervention.
· Conduct intake/psycho-social assessments of those seeking behavioral health services; prepares diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and referrals where applicable.
· Develop and implements written treatment plans; participates in case conferences and clinical meetings.
· Assist family members, partners, and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges where appropriate. Clinicians will ensure proper consents/releases of information are always in place and scanned into the client record same day it was obtained.
· Monitor client’s progress and adjust treatment plan as needed. Also, collaborate with other professionals on intervention plans when needed and offer referrals for treatment where appropriate.
· Assist clients in preparing to transition out of counseling and providing outside referrals where appropriate. Complete engineering tasks, as necessary. To include: customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, new design iterations, and application specific concept drawings for the sales team.
· Full-time employees will maintain a caseload of 32 clients per week. Contracted part-time clinicians will maintain a caseload of 10 clients per week at minimum.
· Maintain confidentiality of records relating to the client’s treatment in accordance with HIPAA and privacy practices.
· Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations for behavioral health treatment including ethical guidelines applicable to your licensure.
· Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Current, valid, and unrestricted professional license required (LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, MFT, Psy.D.) in the state where practicing.
· Master’s degree or doctoral degree from an accredited university
· One year of prior clinical experience required
· Available to work a flexible work schedule based on client’s availability which includes evenings and Saturday days
· Valid driver’s license required; current automobile insurance and registration required
· Knowledge of state, federal, and local laws and resources as it relates to mental health/substance use disorders
· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills at all levels (internal and external) while maintaining high levels of confidentiality
· Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
· Ability to handle high stress situations and able to stabilize crisis situations
· Ability to differentially diagnose mental health, substance use disorders, and suspected medical disorders
· Ability to apply principles and logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
· Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
· Ability to work cooperatively as a team, as well as independently without close supervision
· Technologically savvy
