Revive & Restore is recruiting a new team member to work closely with the Executive Director and the science team, supporting the development of new partnerships and fundraising efforts. Who We Are:

At Revive & Restore, we are building the Genetic Rescue Toolkit, a suite of biotechnologies that we hope will solve some of the toughest biodiversity challenges. Our funded programs support novel research efforts at partner institutions around the world, including top-tiered universities, conservation organizations, and commercial research organizations.

The projects we fund are often the first to demonstrate the measurable impact biotechnology can have on wildlife conservation by enhancing genetic diversity, helping to build disease resistance, developing synthetic alternatives to wild harvest, and facilitating adaptation to a changing climate. Who You Are:

You are discerning and intelligent, tech-savvy, and self-motivated, with a natural knack for connecting with people. You have strong communication and organizational skills and an exceptional eye for detail. You love spreadsheets and project tracking and are comfortable multitasking and responding to shifting priorities. You are passionate about the conservation of wildlife and driven to do something to help protect species.

Salary & Benefits: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $80,000- $110,000, based on experience. Benefits include premium medical coverage with HMO or PPO options, a 401k with employer matching, and paid time off.

Location: The Bay Area location is highly desired. Primarily remote position, but working in the office with the ED several times weekly. Local candidates residing within the San Francisco Bay Area are preferred but we will consider candidates residing in California who are able to meet with the ED at least 2 times a week.

Major Responsibilities:

The Executive Assistant (EA) will report directly to the Executive Director (ED) and support her with project management, donor and prospect engagement, online research, and letter drafting as Revive & Restore expands its donor base. Additionally, the EA will support the ED in developing and managing crucial partnerships for the organization.

  • Manage the development and maintenance of collateral for funding opportunities with private individuals, family foundations, and federal grants. The collateral will range from pitch decks to formal grant submittals using Slides, Keynote, PowerPoint, and PDFs.
  • The science team will do the heavy lifting, but your work will include editing and formatting grant submissions while ensuring appropriate internal review to keep the team on track to meet submittal deadlines.
  • Track and implement tasks to move relationships forward when directed by ED, as well as current and potential partnerships with companies, other non-profits, educational institutions, and individuals pursuing similar goals.
  • Collaborate with the ED and Science Program Managers to develop quarterly reports to current funders and grant proposals for new funding.
  • Prepare ED for meetings with appropriate background research and suggestions.
  • Manage robust donor profiles and interaction/giving history in the Salesforce database.

Identify Potential Funders

  • Research potential funders and compile findings for ED’s review with a focus on high-net-worth donors, family foundations, and possible federal funding.
  • Identify appropriate donor prospects and create profiles of those individuals with giving interests that match our program priorities.
  • In collaboration with ED and Science Program Managers, draft letters of inquiry and proposals for potential funders.
  • Enter information on interactions into Salesforce and track/manage follow-up accordingly.

Other Administrative Responsibilities

  • Project management to ensure appropriate internal review and deadline submissions
  • Calendaring and scheduling Zoom meetings and calls for the ED and Program Managers
  • Draft appropriate follow-up from meetings and manage action items captured
  • Archive meeting notes in Salesforce
  • Additional related administrative functions as needed

Qualifications (partial list):

  • 3-5 years' experience in a non-profit or family foundation. Any prior science-related experience preferred.
  • Significant experience sleuthing the internet for research and either skilled or excited to learn how to incorporate AI
  • Alignment with the mission of Revive & Restore

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills with various audiences (i.e., executive leadership, high net-worth individuals, board members, scientists, and colleagues)
  • Experience developing collateral, ranging from pitch decks to grant proposal submissions required
  • Must be an experienced Mac user; Cloud-based technology using Google Suite, Salesforce, Dropbox, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Asana, Evernote, and Mailchimp (Apple computer environment)
  • Ability to manage expectations and timelines to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Maintain standards and sensitivity with confidential information
  • Ability to pitch in when needed as part of a small, dynamic team
  • Interest in conservation or biotechnology is a plus
