Job Description:
Manages security activities to ensure the safety and security of gaming and entertainment guests and team members, as well as the safeguarding of all Casino property.
**Weekends and Holidays Mandatory**
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests.
2. Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs staff to ensure that Team Members receive leadership, guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
3. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Mem-bers.
4. May fill in when Director of Security is absent.
5. Develops and enforces security procedures and regulations.
6. Conducts investigations as directed or as is required.
7. Acts as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs.
8. Plans, develops, selects and directs the staffing supervision, training and scheduling of all security personnel.
9. Implements systems to ensure compliance with federal, state and company rules and regulations.
10. Identifies and controls risks and threats to the safety and assets of the company, patrons and em-ployees.
11. Manages security personnel on specific assigned duties and/or special assignments as needed.
12. Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make the Casino their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
13. Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring department standards, guidelines, and objec-tives and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of department.
14. Coordinates closely with surveillance to ensure security of guests, team members and company assets and compliance with civil laws and company policies.
15. Implements and monitors emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of emergencies including but not limited to fire, flood, or bomb threats.
16. Coordinates security and investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies in order to assure proper handling of criminal violations of guests or team members.
17. Maintains and monitors guest service standards of user departments in accordance with established objectives.
18. Works with legal department in gathering information and location of missing witnesses and former team members; may occasionally appear in court with attorneys to assist in civil and/or criminal justice proceedings.
19. Attends and participates in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
20. Coaches, mentors, advocates for the team member as well as the company and is a hospitality champion.
21. Establishes department standards, guidelines and objectives, and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
22. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of ac-tion to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
23. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
24. Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed with-in the standards established by management.
25. Responsible for key and access control for the property.
26. Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities: In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
- Obtain and retain required license(s).
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Position Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, or a closely related field; three to five years of Gaming related experience; preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Strong oral and written skills, and a proficiency in Word and Excel are required. Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an environment exposed to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varied light levels, including flashing lights.
Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.
