Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.
The Opportunity:
As the Director of Scientific Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and Operations, you will play a key leadership role within Medical Affairs, reporting to the Head of Medical Excellence. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic engagement with key external scientific and medical experts, leading scientific congress/conference planning, and overseeing advisory board operations to support the company’s precision oncology mission.
Key responsibilities include:Scientific Engagement Strategy & Execution:
    Develops and implements a comprehensive scientific stakeholder and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement strategy to establish and strengthen relationships with global oncology thought leaders, academic researchers, and key stakeholders.
    Supports the prioritization of key scientific experts and centers of excellence in precision oncology, particularly in the RAS-addicted cancer space.
    Facilitates strategic KOL interactions across functions, ensuring alignment with the broader corporate and medical affairs objectives.
    Cultivates and maintains high-value partnerships with healthcare professionals, professional & patient advocacy groups, and other key stakeholders to drive meaningful collaboration.
    Partners with cross-functional teams (scientific strategy, medical writing, client services, project management, and other functions) to ensure seamless pull-through of stakeholder engagement strategies into broader medical communications.
    Supports the collection, synthesis, and reporting of insights by creating quarterly dashboards in collaboration with Field Medical.
Congress & Conference Strategy, Planning & Oversight:
    Leads the strategy, planning and execution of Revolution Medicines’ presence at major scientific congresses and conferences (e.g., ASCO, AACR, ESMO).
    Develop and manage congress engagement plans, including symposia, poster/oral presentations, investigator meetings, and executive interactions.
    Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams to optimize scientific engagement at key events.
Advisory Board & Scientific Exchange Management:
    Oversees the planning, execution, and compliance of scientific advisory boards and expert panels to gain strategic insights into the evolving oncology landscape.
    Partners with internal teams (medical affairs, clinical, commercial) to design impactful advisory board agendas and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
    Ensures adherence to industry regulations and internal compliance guidelines for external engagement activities.
Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Establish best practices and operational frameworks for cross-functional/integrated communications strategy, scientific engagement tracking, documentation, and insights dissemination.
    Works closely with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial leadership to integrate external expert feedback into strategic decision-making.
    Manages budgets and vendor relationships related to KOL engagement, congresses, and advisory board activities.
    Provides counsel during high-stakes scenarios (e.g., product launches, market changes), aligning engagement efforts with broader corporate, commercial, or medical strategies.
    Monitors emerging trends in stakeholder engagement and medical communications, identifying opportunities to elevate presence/impact.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
    Advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred; MS or equivalent experience in biomedical sciences or related field considered.
    10 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical affairs, with a strong background in scientific engagement and congress strategy.
    Deep understanding of the oncology landscape, particularly in precision medicine and targeted therapies.
    Proven expertise in KOL engagement, scientific congress planning, and advisory board management.
    Strong leadership experience with the ability to build, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams.
    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate scientific concepts into strategic engagement initiatives.
    Experience managing budgets, vendors, and operational processes related to external engagement.
    Familiarity with compliance regulations (e.g., PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act) governing scientific interactions.
Preferred Skills:
    Prior experience in precision oncology, RAS-pathway research, or targeted therapies.
    Experience in launching oncology therapeutics and developing medical affairs strategies.
    Strong track record of managing relationships with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, advocacy groups, and regulatory agencies.
    Expertise in leveraging digital tools, AI-driven insights, and scientific communication platforms to enhance KOL engagement.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative biotech environment with a solution-oriented mindset.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $204,000 to $255,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
Please note that base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
