Description
The Marketing Manager will oversee day-to-day marketing operations and ensure the seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the Marketing Manager is a proactive and detail oriented part of the marketing team that will manage workflows, coordinate team efforts, and assist in building scalable systems that support departmental growth.
As part of this role, the Marketing Manager will assist the CMO with the operational implementation of a CRM system and marketing automation tools, working closely with the Marketing Coordinator and external contractors to build a strong, efficient marketing infrastructure.
We are looking for someone from the general area with the ability to work onsite at times. Details to be discussed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Operations and Campaign Execution
- Translate the CMO’s high-level strategy into actionable marketing plans, ensuring campaigns and initiatives are executed efficiently and on schedule.
- Manage the day-to-day marketing operations, including timelines, deliverables, and project workflows.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Coordinator and external contractors to keep everyone on track and aligned with company goals.
- Track campaign budgets and spending, ensuring alignment with approved allocations and identifying areas for optimization.
Assist in Building Marketing Systems
- Assist the CMO with the operational implementation of the CRM system, ensuring team adoption and alignment with marketing workflows.
- Work closely with the CMO to develop scalable systems and workflows that will support the company’s fast growth.
- Collaborate with the CMO and Marketing Coordinator to document processes for marketing automation software and CRM usage, campaign tracking, and customer segmentation.
Team Management & Collaboration
- Supervise the Marketing Coordinator, providing mentorship and support to ensure their success.
- Manage external contractors (e.g., Graphic Designer, Digital Ad Specialist), to make sure their work aligns with company standards and deadlines.
- Act as the go-to person for coordinating between different team members and contractors, ensuring communication flows smoothly and everyone is working toward the same goals.
Growth & Innovation
- Contribute ideas and solutions to improve how the team works as the company grows.
- Be a key player in building the foundation for a marketing department that can scale as the company expands into new markets and customer bases.
- Bring a positive, can-do attitude to a fast-paced environment where things are always evolving.
Data-Driven Campaign Oversight
- Track and report on campaign performance using marketing automation and CRM tools, providing insights to support optimization efforts and improve customer engagement.
Key Metrics for Success
- Campaigns and projects are completed on time, are measurable, and achieve performance benchmarks (e.g., engagement rates, ROI).
- Team members and contractors feel supported and know what’s expected of them.
- Marketing workflows are documented and adopted, to make the marketing team’s work smoother and more scalable.
- CRM integration milestones are achieved with team-wide adoption and effective usage.
- The department grows and evolves alongside the company, with the Marketing Manager playing a central role in that success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on campaign execution and systems development, and a record of keeping multiple projects on track and managing team members or contractors.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, with the ability to oversee multiple moving parts.
- Proficiency in marketing tools (e.g., Asana, MailChimp, HubSpot) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships across teams and keep things running smoothly.
Preferred:
- Experience in a fast-growing company or fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the tourism, outdoor recreation, or seasonal business industries.
- An understanding of marketing automation and CRM tools and customer segmentation strategies.
