We are currently seeking a full-time Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in a hybrid capacity (with remote work possible for exceptional candidates).
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator with expertise in automation, data ingestion, and cloud-based database management. The DBA will play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and automating database environments, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations within our Azure-hosted infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical proficiency and the ability to implement and maintain robust solutions supporting our business needs.
This full-time position offers hybrid work flexibility, with the opportunity for fully remote work for exceptional candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate Data Ingestion: Develop automated workflows to retrieve database backups from SFTP and load them into our Azure-hosted environment.
- Database Administration: Manage, optimize, and maintain our database systems to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Cloud Integration: Configure and manage Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Storage.
- Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, or SQL-based) to streamline database operations.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data security practices and compliance with HIPAA and financial industry regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to database performance and ingestion processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in database administration, automation, and cloud-based data ingestion.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar).
- Demonstrated expertise in automating data retrieval from SFTP servers.
- Proficiency with Azure Cloud Services, particularly Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Storage.
- Advanced scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell, SQL) for automation.
- Experience migrating structured data into cloud environments.
- Familiarity with data security and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hybrid or remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating databases with SAS applications.
- Background in healthcare technology, fintech, or financial data environments.
- Prior experience building ETL pipelines and performing data transformations.
