About the role
The Back Plant Operator is responsible for Dischargers (bottom ash/stoker) or APC (Air Pollution Control equipment). General tasks would include routine checks of equipment, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting Plant operations under the direction of the supervisor or control room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs daily routine inspections of assigned equipment and fills out necessary log sheets according to procedures.
- Monitor and maintain proper operation of Slakers, Dischargers, and Air Pollution Control equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
- Perform general housekeeping of the work area or other areas of the plant; Clean conveyor spillage as needed.
- Perform and document inspections of equipment to identify and report equipment malfunctions.
- Perform or assist in preventive maintenance, as required, including proper lock out tag out of these systems.
Qualifications:
- GED/HS Diploma preferred; Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
- Experience operating forklift and skid steer preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Walk, stand, sit, climb and be able to handle temperature changes including extreme heat.
- Be able to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
Shift Work:
5 shifts on, 2 shifts off, 2 shifts on, 5 shifts off, rotating 12-hour days/nights.
