About the role
This position works with Transfer team at the HRF and is responsible for the processing of OBSM materials, and hazardous waste materials from roll off boxes. Once the material has been dumped into the process pit it is then transferred with an excavator and a auger to a vessel container for disposal. This position also assists with twin-spinning vacuum boxes, and the final cleaning of boxes once the material has been removed and processed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Performs all job-related functions in a Safe, Honest, Ethical and Compliant fashion. Maintains a “Safety First” approach to all tasks and understands that operating safely is the most important thing we do.
- Works in potentially hazardous atmospheres and locations where exposure to hazardous substances may be encountered to include petroleum hydrocarbons, benzene and hydrogen sulfide.
- Operates small equipment to include air monitoring equipment, hydraulic power packs, air compressors, pumps, Reworld blending equipment, generators, pressure washers, etc.
- Works with EH&S, HR and Training Departments to ensure that their training and drug screens are current.
- Completes required paperwork to include timecards, Safe Work Permits, Inspection Forms, JSA’s and Safety Audits.
- Is a team player that leads by example.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Reworld management as required by the business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED is preferred.
- Demonstrates a strong mechanical ability.
- Clean driving record and valid state issued Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass background checks, drug & alcohol screens, Haz-whopper 40-Hour Training, Confined Space Entry training, basic safety reciprocal, and various site specific training courses.
- Has the ability to wear and properly use a variety of Levels A, B, and C & D Personal Protective Equipment including face, hand, foot and eye protection as well as respiratory protection equipment.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Is available for “On Call” duty when emergencies or special situations arise.
TRAINING
- Complete OSHA 8 hour
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER certified
- PPE Training
- Hazard Communication
- SWPPP training
- Spill Prevention Plan training
- Other training as necessary for the tasks at hand
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work for periods up to 12 hrs in varying outside climates
- Engages in strenuous physical labor to include lifting, pulling heavy objects; standing for long periods of time; climbing and working from ladders and scaffolds.
- Have the ability to work from heights, of 10’ or more wearing the appropriate fall protection.
- Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching
- May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs
- Able to pass Haz Whopper physical
