Marine Service Technician- Experienced Full-Time. Norwalk, CT
Established in 1936, Rex Marine is one of the largest and most respected full-service marine operations in the Northeast. Rex Marine is the Only Marina in Connecticut to Receive Mercury Marine’s CSI Award for Outstanding Customer Service for 8 consecutive years.
The Marine Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance efficiently while ensuring quality work.
PreferredCandidate:
- Has minimum 3 years’ ( 5 years preferred) full-time experience with powerboats up to 45’. An experienced tech is expected to be qualified to work without close supervision.
- Owns appropriate tools for required work. ‘Special’ tools are provided.
- Is Mercury Outboard, MerCruiser, Suzuki or Yamaha Certified. Bare minimum: Demonstrable experience on Mercury, Yamaha, MerCruiser and other Marine engines. Diesel Experience is a plus.

- Will have solid computer-based diagnostic experience, with the skills and aptitude to utilize and increase your proficiency using software-based diagnostic systems.
- Be willing/able to attend Company Paid Training, online and/or off-site, at least once annually.
- Will have valid Auto Driver’s license. Not having one will not disqualify but must be disclosed.
- Has, or willing to obtain, State-Issued Safe Boating Certificate. Having boating experience to safely & competently operate power boats for testing is a big plus.
- Desires a full-time, year-round position. (Part-Time or seasonal work also is available.)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 – 4:30; must be willing to work limited overtime hours including rotating Saturday morning hours upon request at peak demand times (April – July and October -November).
Compensation: Hourly compensation: up to $45/hr depending upon earned manufacturer certifications and experience, details upon request. Performance and Salary review will be conducted after 60 day probationary period. Overtime after 40 hours per week worked.
