Experienced Dog Groomer needed
Part time or full time available.
Looking for a groomer that wants to put quality over quantity. Wants to build a relationship with their clients and their pets.
Very busy boarding and grooming facility looking to add another full or part time groomer.
Business provides all the needed support staff to handle scheduling appointments, answering phones, laundry, checking in and out clients and more! Just groom dogs & clean up after yourselves.
Typically we have two set drop off times for clients- 8a and 11a, groomer decides how many dogs they can take for each time slot and groomer sets pick up time. Time slots are adjustable based on groomers preference. Willing to discuss all schedules- our office is open 8a-8p Monday thru Friday, 8a-5p Saturdays and 12p-8p on Sundays. We would like to hire someone for atleast 3 days per week.
Groom staff does not have to wait for clients to pick up (office staff will check out late pickups), groomer will also groom dogs currently in boarding. Ideally looking for a groomer who can complete at least 5 full grooms a day, or a combination of full grooms, Feather Trims, Baths etc. Looking for a groomer who values quality, has patience and is going to treat all pets with kindness. We see all breeds of dogs, we do not groom cats.
A lot of our clients utilize the grooming services while they're at work, meaning you're not rushing to get a dog completed in 1 hour. Our clients are accustomed to a 3-4 hour turn around time, with many leaving their pet for the day. Grooming salon is inside boarding kennel- so ample space available. Dedicated fenced private outdoor runways to give groom dogs potty breaks during their visit.
Groom staff is required to provide their own tools (scissors, clippers, blades, brushes etc) and maintenance of their tools. Business provides support staff, grooming tables, tubs, dryers, kennels, shampoos, conditioners etc.
Experience required: either OTJ trained or schooling completed. Groomer does not have a bather or prepper- groomer bathes, dries and finishes all their scheduled dogs.
Commission based pay (50%) all tips, W2 Position.
Small dog haircuts start at $70, Large doodles start at $95. Groomers are encouraged to charge what their time is worth in the event of matted dogs, unruly behavior, not keeping pet on a proper maintenance schedule. Groomers are involved in setting the price for their services.
Grooming salon is closed on all major holidays, but staff required to work days leading up to and after holiday as these dates are in high demand for boarding departure services.
Our facility has been open since 1956- some things are older but everything is in good working order and maintained. When things break- we fix them. We have two raised tubs- one with built in stairs. We don't have lift tubs. We have a few stationary tables and a few lift tables. We have 4 K9II dryers that are regularly maintenanced. We carry Best Shot Shampoos and conditioners, plus Sensi Skin, Skin Remedy (Bark2Basics) and Ultimate from Groomers edge. We have pretty much unlimited towels and happy hoodies. For dogs that allow drying- we expect them to be completely hand/fluff dried, for dogs that don't tolerate being fully dried we have fans to cage dry them.
One of the owners is a groomer- which means they can have your back with clients and will have realistic expectations, can help you when needed with a difficult dog. Office staff does their best to keep schedules managed well and are trained to recognize when a schedule is going to be too difficult for the groomer to manage.
