What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Pouch Machine Operator position at Reynolds Packaging?
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Reynolds Packaging. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining pouch machinery and equipment. This role requires a background in machining and a keen eye for quality control.
Job Responsibilities:
· Set-up machines and optimize settings to achieve productivity targets.
· Make machine adjustments and stage materials when needed.
· Ensure quality standards and tolerances are met during production runs.
· Quality assurance testing, data collection and administrative functions as requested.
· Inspect printed film for accepted quality and complete the appropriate paperwork.
· Read diagrams and written work instructions with attention to detail and utilize problem solving skills.
· Ability to help out in other departments as needed. Including other machines, shipping, maintenance, and QC.
· Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets for one or more machine styles.
· Perform machine adjustments and minor equipment repairs.
· Pack finished product into cases per written instructions.
· Inspect and examine finished product for defects and non-conformances.
· Troubleshoot a process or machine concern and communicate resolutions.
· Perform Product Quality Inspections:
- Understand and perform production quality testing as required per quality testing procedures.
- Segregate product sample retains and samples per written job instructions.
- Communicate quality nonconformance’s issues to supervisor and document on written quality check document.
· Read and Understand work order instructions prior to handling product.
· Apply case labels accurately to finished product.
· Cross train on other machine assets as requested.
· Work in a team environment and conduct yourself in a professional manner when working with other employees and/or contractors.
Qualifications Preferred:
· Three (3) years of working experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Requirements:
· Requires education/experience equivalent to four (4) years of high school.
· Ability to use a ruler, calculator and various hand tools.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide simple whole numbers.
· Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
· Communicate verbally and through written materials.
Job Environment:

· Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and listen.
· Ability to focus on detailed objects and use distance and close vision.
· Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
