Job Summary :
We design airports and aviation-related facilities throughout the US and abroad. Aviation Architecture consistently represents a complex commingling of multiple building types / functions (civic, cultural, commercial, hospitality, office, retail, workplace, interiors, etc.) often under one roof.

As an Aviation Architect with RS&H you will have the opportunity to deliver projects of various sizes and complexities. Your work will be informed and supported by in-house planners, airfield and building engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure that all aspects of any aviation facility are accounted for and integrated into the design. Will consider a senior level candidate with previous PM experience. Additional area of focus will be to provide assistance and support across multiple projects and manage the team to ensure the project conforms to the client's requirements. This position must be capable of implementing the necessary management techniques required to fulfill this responsibility for the specific project.
Essential Functions :
- Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, independently applying advanced architectural concepts and designs.
- Participates on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features typically. May serve as the team expert.
- Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
- Meets with clients to determine objectives and requirements for structures. Prepares structure specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals.
- Owns finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. May review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Reviews junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provides technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. May also lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects.
- Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones. Performs field reviews, inspections, and observations of ongoing construction projects to ensure projects adhere to architectural plans.
- Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
- May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
