Job Summary : This position is skilled at managing unique problems that are abstract in nature and span across disciplines and / or businesses, as well as making decisions within the context of long-term goals and objectives of the business. This position has final decision-making authority on technical matters in his / her disciplines. This position is a recognized thought leader, both within and outside the organization, in the area of specialization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing new services, processes, standards, or operational plans that have a significant impact on the achievement of functional results. This position makes decisions and recommendations that have a long-term impact (3 - 5 years) on the organization and requires regular communication with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
Essential Functions :
- Defines project elements and processes required to meet client needs, participating in and coordinating preparation of bids and promoting and maintaining client relationships. Oversees performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and various other disciplines.
- Leads major projects or multiple moderate projects with complex elements and a broad scope of responsibilities, through strong professional and technical leadership to ensure successful completion.
- Coordinates with project management to execute project plans and directly supervise the teams' design and technical delivery.
- Promotes and maintains client relationships through all project phases, including presenting directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Serve as a firm ambassador to win new work.
- Recommends and implements strategy in support of long-term goals and objectives of the business. Serves as a thought leader both inside and outside the organization.
- Serves as a discipline leader, subject matter expert, and technical resource for discipline and related program activities, including active participation in discipline quality improvement and assurance activities and recommending new practices or changes in emphasis for professional services based on the latest methods, best practices, technological innovations, and developments.
- Leads the development and application of company-wide standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables.
- Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
- May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
