The Opportunity
As part of Rezo’s Biology Team, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary group combining genetics, proteomics, structural biology, and AI to tackle challenging biological questions and develop transformative cancer therapies. Joining Rezo at this early stage provides a unique opportunity to contribute to our groundbreaking platform and drive therapeutic discovery.
We are seeking a Scientist II with expertise in CRISPR gene-editing technologies and strong experience in immunology and/or cancer biology to design and execute innovative cellular assays for target validation and active therapeutic programs in our pipeline.
\n- Implement advanced molecular and cellular techniques to study target functions in 2D/3D tumor models.
- Apply CRISPR gene-editing technologies to conduct genetic studies with technical excellence.
- Design, execute, and analyze key biological experimental strategies to define drug mechanism of action, develop novel disease models and biomarkers for target engagement and patient selection with a high level of independence and creativity.
- Manage and analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare necessary materials for internal and external meetings, regulatory filings, and publications.
- Communicate and collaborate across diverse interdisciplinary research teams.
- Manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Education and Experience:
- PhD in cellular/molecular biology, cancer biology, or immunology with relevant postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Non-PhD candidates with substantial and demonstrated expertise in CRISPR technologies and cancer research are encouraged to apply.
- Expertise and Skills:
- Hands-on experience with in vitro 2D/3D tumor models.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including genetic manipulation of mammalian cells, immunoblotting, proliferation/apoptosis assays, and other phenotypic assays related to oncogenic pathways.
- Strong background in oncogene and/or immunology is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Compensation at Rezo
The expected starting salary range for this position based in San Francisco, California is $115,000-$165,000. Actual starting salary will be determined based on multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education, and experience, the level at which they are hired, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Discretionary Bonus Plan (based on individual and company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies. This position is also eligible for the benefits detailed below.
