Description

In this role you will support the assembly of prototype engineering parts for the Cedar Rapids Product Development teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Tasks will include solder assembly, manual picking and placing of semiconductor die and small passive components, connector soldering, custom module, module encapsulation, and custom module assembly.
• Equipment operation, maintenance, and repair of precision machines to perform die attach, SMT component placement, wafer sawing, and material evaluation are also required.
• Other tasks may include parts kitting/inventory and organization of lab materials. These tasks are a combination of manual assembly and equipment operation and they will involve working with the aid of a microscope and tools for handling very small parts.
  
  

Required Experience And Skills

• Associate's Degree and 2 years of related experience or HS 4 years
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office
• Bench level/trouble shooting electronic equipment (DVMs, Ohmeter, curve tracer)
• Using hand tools (e.g., Tweezers, Vacuum pencils, Soldering Irons, Die Bonding, Wire Bonding, Test Fixtures)
• Work from schematic drawings
  
  

Desired Experience And Skills

• Experience with computers using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Experience with operation of automated and semi-automated electronics assembly equipment and some preventative maintenance of this equipment
• Must be proficient using hand tools such as tweezers, vacuum pencils, and soldering irons to perform die pick and place, component placement, connector soldering, and custom microelectronics assembly
• Soldering and printed circuit assembly experience, working from engineering drawings and markups, understanding or training for handling ESD sensitive electronic components, and experience working with the aid of a microscope
  
  

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $26.25 - $45.48 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
