Mechanical Test Engineer

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise.  We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team.  The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Mechanical Test Engineer

This individual will be responsible to ensure that prototype components and machines meet durability and performance requirements at key stages of the product development process.

Job Description

• Execute test plans for product verification and validation.
• Liaise with test requesters to define and agree test format and timing.
• Prepare tests or test stands in readiness for new tests.
• Run activity tests in an efficient manner.
• Collect test data, review data and report results.
• Supports other test engineers with technical expertise and advice.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
• Ability to communicate within a cross functional team across multiple sites and drive results.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely to document test procedures and communicate results.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically to support field tests, etc.
• Hands on skills and aptitude with mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems.
• Ability to lead and execute vehicle tests.
• Experience using PTC Creo.

Preferences

• Experience with product development and knowledge of the overall process (design, analysis, testing, and mfg.)
• Knowledge of engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems or mechanical systems.
• Ability to accurately diagnose cause and effect of issues.
• Experience with digital data acquisition systems.
• Experience with nCode, Labview, and Matlab.
• Experience working with AgPDM, SAP and other enterprise tools such as root cause analysis.
• Experience with riding lawn or UV equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership and people skills.

Pay Range: $65,000-$90,000 – Commensurate with experience
