Responsibilities/duties:
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs and repairs diesel trucks, trailers, miscellaneous diesel equipment, gas engines and more.
- Keep up on routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake servicing, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure peak performance and reduced downtime.
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, parts used, and work performed for each service.
- Maintains a clean, organized, workspace compliant with safety standards
- Reports to supervisor regarding equipment status, repairs, and recommendations for future maintenance.
- Reports any damaged, missing, or faulty equipment to management promptly for replacement or repair.
- Follow any safety protocols and industry regulations when working with heavy-duty machinery, tools, and hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
- We are a DOT sensitive organization which must submit to drug screen and background check.
- Proven experience as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, with a strong background in heavy construction or related industries.
- Expert knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
- Relevant certifications are highly desirable
- Experience with air brake systems.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Knowledge of light engine repair and maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel repair and maintenance.
- Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
- Competency using computer system to record and document repairs and diagnose problems
- Must pass pre- employment drug screen and background check.
- Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Mechanic
