What are the responsibilities and job description for the MSLR Assembler position at RFD Beaufort, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY:
Assemble life rafts by use of solvents (such as methylethylketone and toluene) and solvent-based adhesives
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operator to interpret written work instructions and drawings to enable assembly of life rafts.
- Operator to apply solvent-based adhesives (glue / cement-type mixture) with a short-bristled paint brush, then grip a roller and apply pressure with it to attach parts, which removes air pockets.
- Repair defects or mistakes when identified.
- Parts may be stuck together with adhesive and the operator will be required to apply solvent to loosen fabric that has adhered to glue and then grip parts with hands to pull apart.
- Apply Toluene or MEK to clean excess adhesives from raft.
- Other duties as required,
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &d EXPERIENCE Basic math skills are required.
- Ability to read measuring tools such as rulers or tape measures required. And how to measure in standard, metric, PSI and temperature.
- Skilled in all methods of verbal, oral and written communication
- Detail oriented
- Responsible for awareness and compliance as applicable to your role and the requirements of ISO9001
- Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs is required.

- Good hand and finger dexterity to manipulate fabric, apply solution and use rollers.
- Identify potential risks and issues and formulate an effective strategy to mitigate the risk or prevent the issue from occurring.

- Use effective time management to ensure that tasks and projects are completed within agreed time limits.
