Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Operator Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are packaged efficiently and meet all quality standards. You will work closely with various machinery and tools to assemble, fabricate, and package products according to established guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CGMP and FDA regulations, as well as mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May train, and oversee subordinate staff in the department.
- May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of junior staff in the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Report daily to the Production Supervisor or assigned supervisor to communicate with Management and Operators to ensure that all production goals are met,
- Troubleshoot and solve any problems that may occur during their shift, whether directly or by escalating to their supervisor.
- Must be able to adapt their work situation to meet production goals, including but not limited to delegating tasks to other Operators or scheduling rotating breaks.
- Should communicate with other Lead Operators to facilitate as smooth a transition between shifts as possible.
- Should be involved as much as possible with the planning of the production schedule, as well as with personnel decisions.
- Should be increasingly involved with document writing and interacting with other departments, including QA/QC to monitor the release of raw materials and the support staff to obtain batch records in a timely manner.
- Start of run set-up: Review batch record including inventory of all bulk, labels and components received match, update white board with all pertinent information needed.
- Perform all batch record entries while line is running.
- Maintain all cleaning logs for room and equipment, as needed. Work with Quality Assurance to complete all technical sign-offs.
- Support other departments as needed, including: Taking of various samples and submitting to the Quality lab.
- Providing production data as needed to Production Support, Quality, Management, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in use of pallet jacks, drum dollies and other equipment related to production activities.
- Ability to speak, read and write proficiently in the English language.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
- Ability to work with others in the accomplishing of production schedules and goals.
Education and Experience:
- Previous production experience is preferred, especially in GMP and cGMP environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Capability to perform tasks that may involve repetitive movements, bending, and reaching.
