Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager preferably with an existing book of business to join our dynamic team. The Account Manager is a vital member of our logistics team, responsible for generating sales, building a robust book of business, and managing the transportation process from start to finish. This role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, proactive problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to customer service. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of shipments, maintain client satisfaction, and drive revenue growth through both sales activities and efficient operations.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Sales and Relationship Building:
- Initiate contact and establish strong relationships with potential customers to build a robust book of business.
- Aggressively work accounts through the sales cycle, including initiating contact, building relationships, qualifying opportunities, closing deals, and onboarding clients.
- Build and maintain sustainable relationships with customers and carriers to foster long-term partnerships.
Operational Management:
- Manage daily shipment activities to ensure timely pickups and deliveries which could extend beyond normal working hours.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate shipments from origin to destination.
- Recruit, vet and develop your own carrier base to meet your customers’ requirements.
- Resolve shipping issues professionally and efficiently to maintain high service standards.
Communication and Negotiation:
- Negotiate prices with customers and carriers, balancing Company required profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Secure minimum $4,500 in weekly sales margin.
- Provide clear, proactive communication to all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Handle all client interactions, including calls, emails, and voicemails, with professionalism and promptness.
Data and Task Management:
- Accurately document and manage all shipment details and customer interactions in internal systems.
- Complete data entry, transaction updates, and file maintenance to ensure records are current and accurate.
- Become the subject matter expert on all tasks related to your accounts.
Problem Solving and Customer Service:
- Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure continued client satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Monitor account performance and address potential concerns before they escalate.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to uphold the company’s reputation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,656.00 - $75,556.00 per year
