What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hardscape Foreman position at RFS Lawn and Landscapes?
Be able to read a site drawing.
Set up and use a transit to establish grades for a project based on the worksite.
Understand the fundamentals of hardscape construction and be well versed with different types of base installations – traditional, permeable, raised structure and synthetic.
Set screed bars according to final grade of the project. Screed and compact areas in preparation for laying pavers, slabs or walls.
Free-grade base in areas where bars are not used.
Check for square and level continually over the course of a project. Notify the Project Manager if you think you see potential issues on site.
Maintain an appealing paver laying pattern for modular projects and straight bond lines on linear projects.
Confidently mark and cut pavers with both table saw and demo saw.
Install edging.
Sand and polish projects to completion.
Report quantity of materials used to the Project Manager.
Identify problems and mitigate them early.
Communicate with clients as much as needed on the jobsite.
Be responsible for and able to report all materials used on the job.
Plan out day and delegate work to Laborers and Installers.
Ensure team is operating efficiently.
Be mindful of the grades on the jobsite.
Work with the Project Manager to organize the placement of materials and aggregates on the jobsite.
Read and understand commercial and residential landscape/hardscape plans.
Map out a jobsite based on plans renderings, always consulting the Project Manager with any questions or changes.
