Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) to join our team. As a GFI at RFX Fitness, you will lead group fitness classes that incorporate interval-based training and pickleball drills. Your role will be to inspire, educate, and motivate participants in achieving their fitness goals while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Group Fitness Classes: Design and facilitate group fitness sessions that combine interval-based exercises with pickleball drills to create a sport-specific training program.
- Motivate and Inspire: Provide energy, motivation, and encouragement to participants, helping them achieve their fitness goals and maintain consistent progress.
- Monitor Participants’ Progress: Ensure proper form and technique during exercises to prevent injury and ensure effective training.
- Safety First: Maintain a safe and inclusive environment by following all safety guidelines and providing modifications for different fitness levels.
- Provide Support and Feedback: Offer personalized coaching to participants when necessary, helping them to improve their skills and achieve better performance.
- Stay Current with Fitness Trends: Continuously update your fitness knowledge and stay current with new training techniques and concepts.
- Foster Community: Create a welcoming and positive environment where participants feel supported and part of the RFX Fitness community.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Arrive on time for scheduled classes, maintaining a reliable and consistent presence for participants.
Qualifications
- Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) Certification: Valid certification in group fitness instruction (e.g., ACE, AFAA, or similar certification).
- CPR/AED Certification: Current certification in CPR and AED.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching group fitness classes is preferred. Experience with interval-based training, strength conditioning, and/or sport-specific training is a plus.
- Passion for Fitness: A genuine passion for fitness and helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of participants.
- Adaptability: Ability to modify exercises to suit participants of varying fitness levels and provide safe, effective options.
- Pickleball Knowledge: While not required, a basic understanding of pickleball and its training benefits will be an asset.
