RG Cowan Design Build is a small, highly sought-after residential design build firm in Grand Junction, Colorado that specializes in custom new homes and renovations. We build high quality, custom homes for design minded clients! We are currently seeking a qualified Preconstruction Coordinator with experience in residential design, construction estimating, and project management. The successful candidate can expect a standard Monday-Friday work week with an emphasis on work/life balance in beautiful western Colorado.

The Preconstruction Coordinator is an integral member of our team. This role sets the stage for the client experience and the ease of full service construction moving forward. The Preconstruction Coordinator guides clients through the preparation stages of custom homes to ensure homeowners are well-informed, confident, and excited to see their dream home become a reality.

Candidate requirements and essential duties:

  • Experience at a design/build or construction firm performing design document reviews, estimating, scheduling, and other project management related duties
  • Must be a creative, collaborative team player able to adapt to our architectural design, construction processes, and communication systems
  • Review Pre Construction contracts for accuracy and clarity and approve for release to clients
  • Provide feasibility and constructibility reviews
  • Facilitate architectural design conversations with clients and RGC designers
  • Coordinate with the RGC team to provide insight, contribute ideas, and value engineer architectural designs to align with budget constraints
  • Perform quantity take offs based on plan sets and existing site conditions
  • Provide subcontractor and supplier management including building relationships with new vendors and subcontractors
  • Create an accurate scope of work for construction projects
  • Generate quote requests for final budgets and contracting
  • Receive and review comparative quotes from multiple subcontractors and suppliers
  • Develop a detailed schedule of allowances for all costs of construction
  • Coordinate with interior designers and get selection approvals from clients
  • Create in-depth critical path schedules including labor crews, subcontractors, and materials ordering
  • Submit building permits including HOA, city, and county compliance

Non-Negotiables:

  • Cannot work remotely
  • Must live in the greater Grand Junction area
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Knowledge of residential construction, methods, and codes
  • Strong communicator
  • Able to lead team meetings and client meetings
  • Buy-in and drive to move up in the company
  • Able to adapt to a team environment including learning to use multiple communication applications including but not limited to; Gmail and Google suite apps, Buildertrend management software and Microsoft office tools

Pay:

  • $60,000 – $75,000 / year depending on experience
