A Brief Overview
The Treaty Developer develop, design and produce reinsurance treaties of the highest complexity which include advanced reinsurance concepts. Ensure the treaties accurately reflect the reinsurance agreement provisions negotiated between RGA Re and its clients. Evaluate client prepared documents and initiate necessary recommendations for change. Perform Peer Reviews for documents prepared by other associates for quality and accuracy.
What you will do
- Research, design and / or create the most complex treaties (whether client prepared or RGA drafted) which include advanced reinsurance concepts and capture all the details of a reinsurance transaction in one document. Developer must be familiar with actuarial pricing concepts, reinsurance business models, administration details, underwriting specifics and general legal mandates. Developer must understand how profitability for the business is affected by treaty language. Ensure the documents accurately reflect the agreement reached between RGA Re and clients. Identify and escalate treaty language outside guideline parameters to the appropriate Subject Matter Expert for assessment which includes obtaining and documenting approvals. Work very closely with SMEs in other departments such as Actuarial, Legal, Administration, and Underwriting.
- Follows established department procedures, conduct Peer Reviews for documents prepared by other associates for quality and accuracy, adherence to RGA business guidelines and legal protocols.
- Ensure treaties comply with State and Federal insurance regulations as communicated from Legal counsel and corporate contract standards. Identify differences and escalate to Legal counsel.
- Maintain relationships with clients and other RGA Re associates to facilitate effective resolution of treaty issues. Advise clients of recommended revisions to treaty documents and continuously monitor status to ensure they are executed.
- Own and drive resolution on meetings with internal associates in other areas of RGA, orchestrate client calls and occasionally meet with visiting clients in person. Continuous communication with clients via phone and e-mail.
- Work with various computer systems to produce boilerplate treaty documents, produce reports and / or input data.
- Assist department associates with questions and occasionally provide training.
- Analyze methods, procedures or processes and recommend enhancements and / or improvements. Implement approved recommendations.

Compensation Range :
63,400.00 - $90,050.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
