Job Description
The Design Release Engineer will be responsible for specifying, designing, developing, and releasing electric motors for Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) applications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Guide the engineering development of electric motors from design concept to product launch, including electromagnetic design, mechanical design, and thermal analysis.
- Coordinate the release of designs, obtain design approvals, ensure designs are manufacturable, component readiness, track piece cost, investment & mass, support future design direction, lead and facilitate resolution of component issues, lead design changes through Product Development (PD)
- Change Request (CRs), Change Notices (CNs), Global Issue management (GIMs), Forever Request (FR), Interim Approval Authorization (IAA), and quality gates (APQP) processes, warranty process, and support supplier quality assurance & warranty resolution.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in the automotive field, preferably product development/powertrain.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- No driving a client vehicle is required.
- 20% travel required (International travel to Italy if needed).
